Aspiring improvisers can sometimes be at a loss on what to play when they want to step "outside" chord changes. This workshop will look at using intervallic pair modes to generate compelling melodic material that can stand on its own or add chromatic color and angular motion to "inside" playing. We'll look at various approaches and their flavors and look at ways to get these interesting shapes into your vocabulary.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of jazz harmony. Please bring your instrument!
